Mary has worked with various community organisations such as Oxfam Australia and Youth Challenge Australia and is committed to supporting young people as actors in international development and social justice.
Mary has a BA in development studies from ANU, Grad. Dip. Ed from UTS and is completing her Masters in Social Sciences (International Development) at RMIT. Mary has spent time volunteering in India, Guyana, Indonesia and Samoa. Her varied involvements range from tutoring teachers in remote Amerindian communities, to taskforces to develop a network of second chance education centres, and more recently in the Samoan Ministry for Women, Community and Social Development as a Youth Development Specialist, revising the strategic plan for the Samoa National Youth Policy, as well as providing support to the Samoa Joint Youth Program.
Her current role at Oxfam International Youth Partnerships supports and facilitates a global network of young people working for change across 100 countries to exchange, learn and collaborate using online technology and other communications means.
