Peace-building - Nepal (South Asia)

  

“The purpose of peace education is personal and social transformation, and transformation with a clear vision of a peaceful and unified society.”

“When I returned from IYP I had so many ideas.” Sadhu shared the trainings from IYP with young people between 12 and 35 as well as some teachers of Saturdayschools and other young people who worked with youth groups. He was amazed by the excitement and motivation of the young people he was talking to. 

 “The group of young leaders illumined by a new vision and inspired by love will develop volition to engage in acts of service to their community.”

 

Strategy:

Sadhu’s idea of change was to train local communities in CapacityBuildingfor promotion of Peace conducting conceptual educational training among youth. Initially he planned to organize and establish a sequence of educational courses. His aim was to offer courses of various durations and designs.

 

Past Accomplishments & Skills:

Now as a Resource Person, Sadhu has been working with the Training Institute Nepal in different positions. He has been facilitating the empowerment training packages for youth, teachers of children of different communities since January 1999.

He has education skill and knowledge of Curriculum design and teacher preparation. He has experience in administration, evaluation and revision as well as the coordination of activities. Currently he has focused his energy to empower Junior Youth aged 12 to 15 years under the program "Junior Youth Empowerment Program".  The program has focused on two distinct objectives: raising capacity on Power of Expression and raising capabilities to make Conscious Decision in life of this younger generation. So far he has more than 750 junior youth and 75 youth as their facilitators in 11 districts of Nepal.
