Samantha Irikidzai Mundeta

Samantha Mundeta from South Africa attended IYP2004, and was recently one of the youth delegates to the African Development Forum on governance in Africa, hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Her focus as an activist is on empowering women; and she recently organised a panel discussion on Young Women and Governance. The discussion was an intergenerational dialogue between young African women from sixteen African countries, featuring leading Zambian women. It was aimed at developing a common understanding of the key challenges that have systematically limited the participation and advancement of young women.

Currently, Samantha is in the process of developing a blueprint on young African Women and Governance in Africa. She is also involved with the African Youth Initiative Network (AYINET), and the One People Peace campaign.
