Being an Indigenous Australian himself, Nelson addresses the unemployment and detachment of his people from the market economy.

With his Action Plan Nelson addresses the lack of Indigenous businesses leaders in Australia. The people in positions to make decisions from the private sector that will directly or do already affect Indigenous communities are mostly non-Indigenous. “The employment of skilled Indigenous people is not being recognised by our people as being of priority.”

Nelson believes that Australia needs alegislation preventing foreign ownership, manufacturing, distribution and retailing of Indigenous artefacts. He wants to help indigenous Australians to create job opportunities and to implement a nationally shared profit fund for Australia indigenous communities from sales.
