Anna Powell
Training & Development Coordinator
Anna studied a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Anthropology) at the University of Sydney and has always been committed to positive social change. She has travelled extensively throughout Australia and Internationally with her most recent travels spent living in the Philippineswhere she was working in an Indigenous community north of Manila with Australian Volunteers International.
When she returned to Australia from travelling she found herself volunteering for OIYP2004 in the position of ‘Volunteer Coordinator’. She describes the energy of OIYP as something that you just can’t escape and finds that being involved with such a dynamic and inspiring group of people every day is a privilege and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to work here.
“To be involved with such a I was involved with OIYP in the lead up to IYP2004 and saw all the excitement and enthusiasm building up over those months. Now working here on the Skills Program I can see that enthusiasm directed into amazing work around the world I am really excited about what we can create and share together through the Skills Centre and look forward to the possibilities of the future!”
Anna has worked as a Lifeline counsellor for 2 years and was a Amnesty International volunteer in 2002
